Good comeback, Yellowcard..!!
I said, “good” not “great”— I love this song but its too similar to some previous hits like Way Away or Breathing… okay maybe it’s not even that similar but the style hasn’t changed much from previous albums.
But again, that could be a good thing- the other hits were great, and it’s nice to bring back that pop/rock fun.
I really liked the violin solo in this- lots of fun arpeggio twists and spicattos during the verses… the first one specifically.
Drums are really dynamic and exciting! I love the rolls into the chorus
Guitars are good. There wasn’t anything particularly unique about them, but they were consistent- also the riff before “Desperation Kills” put me on the edge for a moment, but didn’t really excite me… definitely thought they could do something else with that.
Lyrics, again, really similar to some of their other hits, but again- good thing or bad thing depends on how big of a fan you are. I’ve always been a fan of his vocals- he’s one of those great singers that don’t need to scream too much over the amp’s overdrive.
